IN CHARACTER INFORMATION
Name: Dr. Ivo Robotnik
Canon: Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog
OU/AU/OC: OU
Canon Point: After “Sonically Ever After”
History: http://villains.wikia.com/wiki/Dr._Ivo_Robotnik_%28AoStH%29

Personality: Robotnik is a man who is excited by the mere fact that he exists. He loves himself honestly and truly and the knowledge that he lives and breathes inspires him to greater feats of evil. Bullying people proves to him that he's better than everyone else and therefore, worthy of their love and affection. After all, fear and love aren't really so different, are they? (They are.) So it's strange to him that in spite of his declarations of conquest and chaos, nobody really likes him very much. They all admire Sonic, the hero, who protects them from Robotnik, and that's just unacceptable. Recognizing that, Sonic has become an enemy to Robotnik that he must destroy at all costs because he threatens and challenges his superiority.

It's an understatement to say that Robotnik has a temper. His emotions come in extremes where he's violently angry or happy enough to dance around the world. When angry, he's more prone to blaming even those that aren't involved, going as far as locking away a romantic rival for the rest of his life after being humiliated. Childish and petulant, Robotnik feels he's every bit entitled to getting what he wants and will throw a tantrum when he doesn't. Even so, there are few things that he has come to treasure in the world, including his late pet cockroach and his old teddy bear. His old childhood treasures allow him to feel something that at least resembles love. Otherwise, however, he tends to define love as something others show by favors and service. In large part, they show that his need to be bad and rule over all is a poor coping mechanism to rejecting any and all responsibility as an adult. It doesn't help that he's from a horrific family.

Surprisingly, in spite of his unsubtle ways, Robotnik has a decent handle on manipulating others. He knows what they want and so, he holds over them exactly that to get them on his side. After having successfully conquered most of Mobius, it's clear that Robotnik has operated either by demolishing the opposition, replacing them with his robots, or corrupting them. If it weren't for Sonic, someone to actively challenge him, Robotnik has an easier time with his villainy. He isn't very good at handling challenge or anyone going the distance to stand up to him, and his plans tend to fall apart shortly after. If he sees a chance to get what he wants, he'll take it, but really, he's a weak man and too much of a bully to be any sort of a competent leader.

Concerning Scratch and Grounder, his two robots, Robotnik may blame them for his failures and express nothing but frustration, he considers them his only two friends. Even as he verbally and physically abuses them, he keeps them around largely because they're all he has in his life. Of course, he could never admit that, not even to himself. Oddly, he's largely ambivalent to Coconuts, the try-hard of the group, but that may be because of no other reasons besides he's a manipulative jerk. He's more than willing to keep Scratch and Grounder competing with each other and Coconuts keep the other two in line when they start getting out of hand. As long as they're all still on Team Robotnik, nothing else hardly matters and he's inclined not to scrap them probably just because of that.

His perspective on the world is too suffocated with grandiose delusions about himself to see how reality truly is. Robotnik shouts about how evil and awesome he is, but really, he has never considered that villainy isn't something that gets him what he wants. If asked why bother conquering the world, the very question would be so baffling and ridiculous to him that it's clear he's oblivious to any other way of living. He declares himself an evil genius, but really, he's a sad, old man who is so full of himself that he doesn't realize that the reason others don't love him is himself. He cheats and bullies others because he has absolutely no idea how to live any other way.
Strengths: -Raw brute strength (He has borderline super strength!)
-Robot making (Few of it really works, but when they do...)
-Tenacity (If hitting a problem with a hammer doesn't work, he'll just hit it with a bigger hammer till it does. He'll stop at nothing to get what he wants.)
-He can be pretty clever when he puts his mind to it. But his inspirations are too rare and few.
Weaknesses: -His pride (and boy does he have a lot of it)
-His inability to change or reflect on his past mistakes (because everything he does is perfect)
-His compulsion to be “bad” (it often does end up with him getting his “just desserts”)
-Cowardly. He's actually afraid to get his hands too dirty.
-Too independent. He'll likely have a hard time working with anyone.
Possessions: Laser gun (five rounds total before it fizzles out), a picture of his Momma, his tool set, Robot Transmogrifier Raygun (three rounds before it fizzles out and I'm willing to use this only with permission or for a player plot. Basically it turns whatever or whoever it hits into a robot and there's probably a dial on the ray for a reverse beam. I'm willing to take this out, though, if it's too problematic.)
Pony/Animal Type: Walrus. There isn't any significant reason besides that it resembles him the closest out of any other animal out there, body fat, mustache, and all.

First Person: http://dear-player.dreamwidth.org/1510533.html
Third Person: What he needed was a lair. What he needed were his robots, weapons, computers, anything that would help him bulldoze over this saccharine pony town in favor of something more... productive! Like, a freeway, yes. Dr. Robotnik, in the form of a great, big, red walrus, found a decent spot in the outskirts of Ponyville outside of prying eyes. Having stolen a box of balloons from town, he inflates one after another, afterward tying them to what seems like a weaponized, walrus-sized basket. It had a harpoon attached to its side, questionably functional. He gasped for air after having blown into his 999th balloon. He ties it to a beam stuck onto the basket.

“Phew... What did I do to deserve this?” he asked himself. Grumbling, he stands up, balloon and string in hand, and kicks down the basket. “How am I expected to build my death-inducing contraptions with such low tech!? And look! My once-glorious Egg-O-Matic has been reduced to this, this... blimp!”

He sighs, resigned to the disadvantages he was dealt with in this world. Lying back down on his belly, he picks up a balloon and inflates it, careful again not to pop it with his tusks.

“There. My 1000th balloon! Now, I can take to the skies and rain doom upon the equine populace! Not even those pesky pegasi will be able to take me down when I'm equipped with my specially built Wing Skewer Pointed Shooter!”

Reveling at his success, he laughs as he ties the 1000th balloon to his basket. With that, the basket rises into the air as the doctor laughs, caught up in maniacal glee. And rises. Rises. Rising... Rises.

And just as he realizes there's no way he can't get it down, his laughs quiet into desperate gasps.

“... D'oooghh, I hate...! I hate...” He looks around. Like before, there's nobody near him. Nobody to blame. He frowns and pauses... until the vein in his temple throbs again.

“I hate those ponies!!”
